The Athletic Makeover. Get Back in the Game
What do I mean when I talk about an #Athleticmakeover ?
In my practice, many of my patients work out regularly, are very fit and... they have had babies.
The combination of #motherhood and hitting the gym gives women a beautiful figure, however, because of the pregnancy they will still always have weakness in the abdominal wall. These patients are not heavy, don’t have much fat and work out frequently but still have muscle laxity. Further, many of these super fit patients also do not have the typical amount of skin that is usually pulled down to achieve a low scar.
This athletic patient is an excellent example of how I repair the pregnancy-stretched muscles. In her before photos, you can see she is very fit, although she does have post pregnancy damage. In these cases, I perform a modified #tummytuck which includes repairing the entire muscle all the way from breastbone to the belly button to the pubic bone. The result is a flat abdomen that reclaims her pre-baby body.
Because athletic bodies usually have minimal skin, I make a small vertical incision in order to achieve an optimal very low scar placement. For this patient, I also performed #abdominaletching, #liposculpture of the waist and back and used that fat to round out her "hip dips" and fill out and highlight her gluteals resulting in a full, muscular and athletic booty.
As you can see in her photos, the results are absolutely stunning! She is a very happy woman who is celebrating her post surgical results and getting back into her workout routine. Her scars are healing beautifully and she is back in the game rocking a bikini.
